At Bluey’s Engine Shop, we specialise in high-quality used outboard motors and imported JDM engines. Because these are pre-owned mechanical items, our warranty is limited and clearly defined below.

Important Note:

All engines are sold on an “as-is” basis with limited or no warranty, unless a specific warranty is clearly stated on the product listing or invoice.

2. What is Covered

  • Major mechanical failures that were not disclosed in the listing or condition report.
  • Significant defects in core engine components (cylinder block, cylinder head, crankshaft) that prevent basic operation.

3. What is NOT Covered

  • Normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, scratches, fading, or surface rust.
  • Damage caused by improper installation, misuse, overheating, lack of maintenance, or accident.
  • Labour costs for removal, installation, diagnosis, or repair.
  • Electrical components, seals, gaskets, water pumps, impellers, and service items.
  • Any issues that appear after the engine has been started, fitted, or modified.
  • Consequential loss (towing, lost income, travel costs, etc.).

4. Warranty Claim Process

  1. Contact us immediately and within the warranty period at sales@blueysengineshop.com.au with your invoice number and clear photos/videos of the issue.
  2. We may require the engine or faulty part to be returned for inspection (at your cost).
  3. If approved after inspection, we will repair, replace the part, or issue a partial refund at our discretion.
  4. All warranty decisions are at the sole discretion of Bluey’s Engine Shop Pty Ltd.

5. Customer Responsibilities

  • Have the engine professionally inspected and installed by a qualified technician before use.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule and operating guidelines.
  • Provide proof of purchase when making a claim.

6. Limitation of Liability

Our liability under any warranty is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of the faulty part or the original purchase price of the goods. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.

We strongly recommend that every customer has the engine professionally inspected and compression tested by a qualified mechanic before full installation and use.
